The release of a young Green Sea Turtle (video) - Municipality of Kotor (Montenegro).

On the 10th of May, 2013, a young Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) was found by a local fisherman, Mr Bozo Lazarevic, entangled in a gillnet near  the entrance to the Bigova cove, Municipality of Kotor (Montenegro).

The  net was set about 30 m off the coast, and the turtle was entangled at a depth of about 5 m, but was able to surface for air.

Mr Lazarevic contacted the NETCET team at the Institute of Marine Biology,  who examined the animal. Upon finding no external injuries, the young   turtle was measured and then released back into the sea.  Mr Lazarevic claims that it's been several years since the last time he saw a sea turtle in the Bigova cove.

The turtle's shell measured 27 cm in length and 25 cm in width, and the  animal weighed around 3,5 kg.
