Fano is a town of the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region of Italy. It is a beach resort 12 kilometres (7 miles). It is the third city in the region by population after Ancona and Pesaro.
Fano has around 64,000 inhabitants and is surrounded by hills and the Adriatic sea on the other side. It is situated at a strategic road and rail junction, on the road from North to South and linked with Rome. The Carnival of Fano is famous but also its beaches are well appreciated from tourists. Mayor Massimo Seri has signed the Memorandum of Agreement with the City of Venice a few days ago and we are celebrating a fruitful future collaboration!
